Mr Matthew T. Gibson (BSc (Hons), MBPsS) is a Lecturer in the Psychology and Sociology Division. He is also an Affiliate member of Centre for Applied Social Science.

Having completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at QMU, Matthew joined the division as a Lecturer in early 2016. His undergraduate dissertation was conducted in the area of experimental forensic psychology and his Masters in Research degree (MRes), investigating possible evolutionary accounts of the irrelevant sound effect, is due to be completed in September of 2016.

Research/Knowledge Exchange Centre Membership:

At present I am primarily interested in the study of memory and applications of evolutionary theory in psychology. However, I am also very interested in biological psychology and philosophical & theoretical issues in psychology.

  • Memory, Biological Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology, Theoretical Psychology.
