Michael Grant (BA Hons) is the Media Production Technician in the Media Communication & Performing Arts Division.

Michael Grant graduated from Queen Margaret University with a 1st class BA (Hons) in Film and Media. Shortly after graduating Michael started Raw Film Productions with another QMU graduate. Since then he has a produced corporate short films and documentaries for a wide range of clients which has included RBS, Leith Agency, NHS Scotland and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.

In 2015 he produced the film content for the charity 500 Miles as part of their Big Dinner campaign. For this Michael filmed across the UK and in Malawi. The project raised over £500,000 for the charity.

Michael started working for QMU in 2012 as an AV Technician in the Media Services department before taking on the role of Kinetic Project Assistant in the film department in 2014. In this role he provides teaching assistance and technical support to all classes that use the film department’s facilities as well as working along side Graham Drysdale and Walid Salhab to help them with their research and film projects.

Provide technical and teaching support to all staff and students that use the video editing facilities in the university and organise the booking and maintenance of all the equipment in the department. Michael also researches new equipment and film making practices, the results of which goes on to influence what is taught in the video production modules.
