Dr Martin Zeller-Jacques (MA, MLitt, PGCE, MA, PhD) is a Lecturer in the Media, Communication & Performing Arts Division. He is also a full member of Communication and Media Studies.

Dr Martin Zeller-Jacques joined QMU as a lecturer in 2014. His research focuses on contemporary media narratives, especially those which cross boundaries between traditional media.  He has published articles on Transmedia Narrative, Adaptation and Gender and Sexuality, the most recent of which appeared in Handyside and Taylor’s (2016) edited collection, International Cinema and the Girl, and which is entitled ‘Daddy’s Little Sidekick: the girl superhero in contemporary cinema’.

Martin is interested in supervising graduate work on Film, Television and/or Transmedia Narrative, Adaptation Studies and Gender Studies.

My primary research interests center around storytelling in contemporary media. I focus on television narrative, especially in terms of its development through online forms and platforms.

My teaching covers many of the core Film, Television and Media modules across the division of Media, Communications and Performing Arts. I also teach on option modules which stem directly from my research interests in Television Narrative and Transmedia Storytelling.
