Dr Stuart Sean Farquhar(PhD; MA Finance and Investment; BA (Hons) Economics is a Senior Lecturer in the Queen Margaret Business School. He is also the Programme Leader of MSc Finances.

Dr Stuart Sean Farquhar has over 26 years of experience teaching and researching in Universities. His main teaching areas are in Financial Economics, Industrial Economics, Sports Economics, Corporate Finance, and Corporate Governance and Ethics both at undergraduate and postgraduate level

Research Overview 

My primary area of research interest is in Corporate Governance and especially in the effectiveness of the board of directors in corporations and charitable organisations. I also have a research interest in Corporate Governance in the Sports Industry and Sports Economics.

Active research interests

Corporate Governance in Islamic Financial Institutions; Board of Director Effectiveness in Charitable Organisations; Effects of Financial Fair Play in the European football industry. Effects in the financial and competitive balance.
