Craig Cathcart (MSc, LLB, Dip, LP, DTS) is an Associate Head in the Business, Enterprise and Management Division. He is also an affiliate member of the Consumer Dispute Resolution Centre and an associate member of the Centre for Applied Social Sciences.

Craig is an experienced academic lawyer who teaches across a range of dispute resolution, business and law subjects. He is an academic manager with a substantial background in learning, teaching, research and knowledge exchange projects.

In recent years Craig has taken his legal and practical insights in consumer law and developed expertise in the areas of mediation, negotiation and wider dispute resolution.

Subject specialisms include mediation, negotiation, ombudsmen, ADR, negotiation, contract law, business law, marketing, management and leadership.

Until 2015 Craig served as a professional examiner for the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, and acts as a consultant and tutor on a range of legal, regulatory and dispute resolution matters.

Craig is a member of the Law Society of Scotland's Regulatory Committee and Consumer Law Sub-Committee. He is also a trustee of Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association, and served as a director of Citizens Advice Edinburgh.

Craig acts as a mediator linked to Glasgow and Edinburgh Sheriff Courts.

Craig teaches mediation and negotiation at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
