Health Systems Cluster

The Health Systems Cluster at IGHD investigates a wide range of health systems issues, including health financing, human resources for health, governance, equity and gender, with a strong focus on fragile and conflict-affected contexts.

Current research projects in the Health Systems Cluster:

Umoya omuhle

Infection prevention and control of DR-TB in South Africa.


Strengthening health systems post conflict.

Health Systems Resilience

Identifying ways to promote health systems resilience in the UNRWA health care system in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.


Designing and evaluating provider results-based financing for tuberculosis care in Georgia.


Verbal Autopsy with Participatory Action Research: Expanding the knowledge base through partnerships for action on health equity in South Africa.
