QMU ranked top modern ('post-92') university in Scotland

By Press Office

Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh has moved up 17 places in the Complete University Guide rankings. The increase means that QMU is now the highest ranked modern  (ie universities created after 1992) in Scotland and the fourth highest riser in the UK.

News of the success was published today, 25th April, in the Complete University Guide 2019. Along with just 12 UK institutions out of 131 in the table, and only two in Scotland, Queen Margaret University was highlighted as a ‘notable climber’, moving up to 75th place from 92nd place the previous year.

Dr Richard Butt, Deputy Principal of Queen Margaret University, said: “We are pleased that QMU’s notable rise up the league table reflects our efforts in ensuring the relevance of our courses and thus the employability of our graduates. This results from our drive to provide students with outstanding career enhancing opportunities both as part of their degree programme, and as part of their wider university experience. We are committed to enhancing the quality of the student experience, including the targeted support we provide to students to ensure they reach their full potential.”

The Complete University Guide is the first free-to-access complete rankings of all the UK universities. These independent league tables are used by almost a million applicants and their advisers monthly and are thought to be well respected by UK universities for their accuracy.

The newly published league tables can be found in full, along with the methodology and more information on the Complete University Guide website.
