A student from Broxburn in West Lothian has been awarded a prestigious accolade at Queen Margaret University’s recent graduation ceremony in Edinburgh.

Greg Clark, 35, who attended Broxburn Academy, was presented with the Atholl Crescent Award for Personal Development.

The Atholl Crescent Award is presented annually by Queen Margaret University Graduates’ Association, to a final year student who has made a significant contribution to the University and their personal development.  The Award is named after the QMU’s original location on Edinburgh’s Atholl Crescent.

Greg, who graduated from QMU earlier this month with a BA (Hons) PR & Marketing, was presented with his award by Maureen Paterson from the Queen Margaret University Graduates’ Association.

Greg previously studied HNC Advertising, Marketing & PR at West Lothian College.

Commenting his award and QMU experience, Greg said:  “I’m delighted and extremely proud to have won this award.  It really is the perfect end to three great years at QMU.

“One of the things I loved the most about studying at QMU is that the lecturers get to know you. You’re not just a face in a lecture theatre.  I’d especially like to thank my lecturers, Ann Turner and Emma Wood, who have played a vital part in my success.

“The work placement and internship opportunities offered on the course are second to none.  I was worried about being a mature student but I really think I found my calling in marketing and PR and there is no doubt QMU played a huge part in the development of my skills.”

Greg has already secured a full role as a Marketing Officer with West Lothian College, where he is working on the promotion of the Developing Young Workforce and Foundation Apprenticeship programmes.  He is also responsible for maintaining the college website and social media platforms, as well as marketing college events.
