Are you a QMU postgraduate? Do you fancy being your own boss? Maybe you have a brilliant business idea but are unsure how to make it a reality?   If that sounds like you, a free weekly service is being launched at QMU to help you get your business off the ground.

Every second Thursday from 4 th February, an expert adviser from Enterprise Campus will be on hand to support QMU’s postgraduate entrepreneurs between 10am until 3pm.

Dr Jamie Love will be based in the Business Innovation Zone at QMU, where he will be offering one-to-one business clinics to help turn your idea or research into a business reality. 

Jamie can advise on anything from business planning and taxation to accountancy and legal issues.

Funded by the Scottish Funding Council, Enterprise Campus is a free and impartial service offering support for businesses at all stages.

With a background in Intellectual Property Management, and Business Planning & Operations, Jamie brings with him a wealth of information to Enterprise Campus’ East Hub. 

Hailing from Baltimore in the USA, Jamie has a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and over 12 years in research.  He has an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, has been responsible for corporate and business development at three biotech start-ups in the San Francisco Bay Area and has worked as a Business Development Entrepreneur for the Division of Pathway Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.  He has also co-founded a biotech company and most recently was the CEO of a spinout company from the University of Dundee.

Commenting on the new Enterprise Campus service at QMU, Jamie Love said: “We’re very pleased to be working more closely with QMU and to have been given dedicated space on campus to operate our service.  We look forward to hearing all the creative business ideas from QMU postgraduates and helping them turn those ideas into a viable business.”
