QMU publishes its ‘Strategic Plan QM150'

By Press Office

QMU is delighted to publish its Strategic Plan QM150 document which covers the period of time leading up to 2025, the 150 th anniversary of our foundation.

The Strategic Plan is designed to enable us to fulfil our potential as a university of ideas and influence and has been developed from the QM150 strategic planning exercise. This exercise was led by the QM150 project group and sub-groups, and involved consultation with staff and students from across QMU.

It sets out how we aim to further develop our existing academic flagships and create new ones; how we can excel in research, teaching KE, outreach, internationalisation and entrepreneurship; and how we can achieve our aim of being a University without borders as well as a community without barriers. Ultimately, we not only want to successfully prepare our students for the world of work, but our aims are also further-reaching - to maximise our contribution to the prosperity of Scotland, the UK and internationally.

The plan holds true to the principles and values on which this institution was founded. This is reflected in a focus on supporting students, serving the community, creating meaningful partnerships, promoting impactful knowledge exchange and enshrining social justice. The Strategic Plan sets out how we will reach beyond our current horizons and how we will grow as a confident institution.

We would urge all of our staff, students, graduates and friends to review our strategic plan so that everyone has a better understanding of the direction that we are taking in the years ahead. It is a very positive journey, and as a confident organisation, we look forward to helping our students and staff fulfil their potential – to make a real difference to the world around them – and to QMU acting as a catalyst for economic, social and cultural development. In short, our strategic plan explains the steps that we are taking in developing as a university of ideas and influence.
