Peer Assisted Learning (PALS) at QMU
You are coming to one of only two universities in Scotland that operate a PALS scheme. It's an internationally recognised scheme used in thousands of universities across the world, enabling students to support each other in their learning.  PALS Sessions are student-led learning sessions, designed to enhance your QMU learning experience in a relaxed, fun and informal way.

You can use a session either to help you understand something you were struggling with, or perhaps to consolidate and develop the learning you have already completed. We also run revision sessions so you can brush up on your knowledge in the run-up to your exams.

The sessions during term are not mandatory - some people just pop along to a session when they have a particular area of study they are struggling with, while others attend every session because they appreciate the extra support and the experience of the PALS Leaders.
The students who run them are known as PALS Leaders and they have all been where you are now and want to support you by sharing their experience.

PALS sessions run on a regular basis throughout term, and will be run online via Collaborate in semester one. Our analysis of the scheme shows us that students who attend PALS sessions get better grades than students who do not.

We are using some of our wonderful PALS Leaders to run the Tuesday seminars in Induction so join them and benefit from their unique knowledge and experience.

You can read all about how we operate PALS at QMU on the PALS webpage or listen to their podcast. You might like to become a PALS Leader in the future too!
