In order to ensure that your registration into Queen Margaret University Accommodation is as smooth as possible, please read the following information carefully.

Prior to moving into halls, you will be emailed the online e-induction. In this e-induction you will learn about the arrivals process and what you can expect when you move in.

Once you have completed the e-induction, you will be able to book a time specific arrival slot.

We understand that it may not be possible to arrive at your scheduled time, but please do try to keep to your booked time as much as possible to reduce congestion on the day.

Please do not arrive before the start date of your residence contract. If you have a 38 or 50 week contract the earliest you may arrive is 10am on Friday 6th September.

Unfortunately, we do not have on-campus accommodation for family or friends accompanying students on arrival.

General Information

Student Guides and staff will greet you at the main gate of the campus and direct you to drop off points in the car park. Staff are identifiable by ID cards and Student Guides by their colourful T-Shirts.

Please remember to bring photographic identification (e.g. passport or driving licence) so that we can issue you with your keys.

Car access to your Block entrance is restricted to drop-off only. Once you have unloaded your belongin gs please move your car to the main car park before you unpack. Please ensure that this is done as swiftly as is reasonably possible to allow others to use the unloading space. For more information see our Parking information and QMU’s Green Travel Policy

Information Sessions for Parents

Please note that QMU will be holding Parent Information Sessions so if your parents/guardians wish to attend these sessions we strongly recommend that you plan your arrival for that day.

The sessions will be led by a senior member of staff with input from Student Services and the Students’ Union and will explain how our students are supported during their studies. Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes and is followed by the opportunity to talk to staff from several support departments, over tea & coffee.
