Aasiyah is Student President at Queen Margaret University Students Union, having graduated following 5 years of study in Nutrition and Food Science. Aasiyah came to QMU in 2016 and has been involved with the Women's Rugby team, sitting on the committee in a variety of roles, including treasurer and president. She was a class rep throughout her course, as well as a class rep trainer. In her final two years, Aasiyah was elected Communities' Officer, in which capacity she led on a number of campaigns, including 16 Days of Activism against GBV. Although Aasiyah’s science background and interest in food development would naturally lead her to a career in those areas, Aasiyah has chosen instead to continue to represent the interests of students, promoting quality, diversity and inclusion.
