Bike to Work Cycle Facilities Get Started Why Cycle? Get Involved Plan Route

 

LOCKERS - Personal item storage is available to those cycling to campus. They are located on level 1 of the main academic building and require an application form and a deposit paid before a key can be allocated. The key must be returned at the end of the academic year. Contact the Facilities Services office for further information.

PARKING - There are a number of bike stands installed in university square, near the entrance to the main academic building. There are 4 secured cycle locker sheds at the accommodation block for students staying in the halls of residence and 1 available for regular cyclists which also contains space to leave wet gear.

For regular cyclists, there are a limited number of secure bike lockers installed behind the bus stop and enclosed cycle store at accommodation block A. Contact the Facilities Services office if you'd like access to secure storage areas.

SHOWERS - Showers & changing rooms are located on level 1 of the main academic building and in the sports building. There is no charge to use them.

Emergency Maintenance Kit - The Facilities Services Department has available tools, lubricant, pump and puncture repair kit for any emergencies that may arise. A hose, located at the grounds workshop, can be used by freely by cyclists.

Dr. Bike Sessions - The university regularly arranges a mobile mechanic to service bikes cycled in on the day. The mechanic will spend up to 15 minutes per bicycle to repair minor problems on the spot. More major problems can be diagnosed and a bike "MOT" provided.
