EPG Palates
This picture shows palates for EPG research and therapy. Each child or adult must visit a dentist for an impression of their upper teeth and the roof of their mouth (hard palate). The cast is then sent to a specialist dental technician who hand makes the palate to fit the person's mouth exactly. The technician embeds 62 electodes (the sliver dots in the pictures) in the palate. The person then wears the palate in his mouth and when his tongue touches the electrodes a computer records the pattern.
