Dr Susanne Schulz

Profile

Dr Susanne Schulz was educated at the Freie Universität Berlin and at the University of Manchester and Edinburgh University. Susanne has joined QMU in 2003 as a research associate working on a project that investigated the effectiveness of a narrative based smoking cession programme in a low income community in the West of Scotland. In 2005 Susanne became a lecturer in Sociology and since then has taught across a wide range of subjects including, research methods, the sociology of culture, consumption, identity and social order.

Research Summary

Dr. Schulz's main research interests include interaction and social order; culture industries (with a particular emphasis on the division of labour, order in the production cycle and discourses of creativity); symbolic interactionism and Goffman.
