Lizanne Steenkamp received both her Bachelors degree in Human Genetics (1999) and her Honours Degree in Speech therapy and Audiology (2003) from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. In 2002, Community Service became compulsory for Allied Health Professionals and she joined the Speech therapy and Audiology department at the Johannesburg General Hospital in 2004. In 2005 she relocated to Scotland and worked as a Senior Audiologist at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
Lizanne always had an interest in training student Audiologists and acted as a placement supervisor for students both in South Africa and in Scotland. She joined Queen Margaret University in 2007 as a Lecturer in Audiology and covers modules on Diagnostic Audiology, Physics, Speech and Language Development as well as Vestibular Assessment, Function and Rehabilitation.
