Christine DePlacido

Chris DePlacido trained as an Audiologist at the Glasgow school of Audiology qualifying in 1977. She worked as an Audiologist in Lanarkshire for one year before moving to the Royal infirmary of Edinburgh where she became a senior Audiologist. During this time she set up the paediatric service at RHSC in Edinburgh. She moved to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy in 1985 to become head of Audiology and in 1986 became head of service for the newly combined Audiology services in Fife. She worked as head of service and principal audiological scientist in Fife until 2005 when she took up a lectureship at QMU

She received a B Sc Honours in Health Studies from QMU in 1991 and an M Sc in Audiology from UCL in 1996. In 2000 she obtained a Therapeutic diploma in humanistic counselling and became a registered Hearing Aid dispenser. She has since completed postgraduate training in hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, bereavement and drug and alcohol abuse counselling and a range of complementary therapies. She is currently completing her Ph D thesis

She has served as Education and training secretary, honorary secretary and vice chair of BAAT
