Summer en suite accommodation

If you’re looking for summer accommodation in Edinburgh, look no further than Queen Margaret University. We offer cheap accommodation at our new campus for groups, families, solo travellers or couples.

Single rooms are available for as little as one night. Group bookings in self-catering apartments can only be made for a minimum of 7 nights.

Dates

Our accommodation is available from 21 June to 27 August 2010.

Group Travel

Queen Margaret University ’s accommodation consists of self-catering apartments with en-suite bedrooms. Each apartment has its own kitchen with dining and living area. We can offer 3, 4, 5 and 6-bed apartments, all for a minimum stay of 7 nights. Please contact us with your requirements. We are happy to offer special rates, including catering options, for groups over 50 guests.

Language Schools

Queen Margaret University welcomes groups of English language students to our campus. We can provide:

  • a secure campus environment for young students;
  • classrooms for teaching;
  • single, ensuite accommodation in self-contained flats;
  • facilities for self-catering, half-board or fully catered options;
  • classrooms for use for social activities;
  • sports facilities;
  • regular, quick train and bus connections into Edinburgh city centre.

Solo Travellers/ Couples

If you are travelling on your own or with a partner, we offer a safe environment to stay in. You would stay with us on a room only basis, with shared access to kitchen and dining facilities. Each room has an en-suite shower and toilet facilities. There are double and single rooms available as required.

Extras

As well as your room, you can also include a cooked breakfast into your package. Breakfasts should be pre-booked at time of reservation for £7.40 pp. Coffees and snacks are available at Food for Thought, QMU’s main catering outlet throughout the day.

Internet access is available in the flats at a one-off charge of £10.00 per account. Guests will need to bring their laptop and connection cable however.

Parking

Free parking is available to all guests.

Smoking

QMU is a non smoking establishment, and smoking is not allowed in bedrooms or flats.

QMU’S CAMPUS AND THE LOCAL AREA

Our campus opened at the end of 2007 and is set in newly landscaped grounds, with pond and walks. It is situated to the east of Edinburgh, by Musselburgh. Accessing Edinburgh city centre is easy: Musselburgh Train Station is virtually on campus and the journey only takes 6 minutes to the city centre. You can also get a bus from campus into the city centre, currently taking about 30 minutes.

We have a number of facilities open to guests in our accommodation: our gym is available to for a small charge (please refer to our sports pages for details) and you can make use of the catering outlet and shop on campus.

For those wishing to cook during your stay, a grocery shop is located only a 5 minute walk away and a range of larger supermarkets are easily accessible by bus, taxi or car.
