The Halls of Residence

Living in the halls is the most stress free form of accommodation
for students: there's no splitting up bills amongst flatmates to worry about,
there's heating, electricity, hot water and internet access. Because the accommodation is on the same campus as your classes you can virtually roll into class each
morning.
The halls are leased on a 40 or 50 week basis, including Christmas
and Easter. The cost includes hot water, heating and high speed internet connections via the QMU campus network.
Prices for the halls of residence can be found below. All of the rooms on campus are self catering, however, catering packages are available on request.
September 2009 Accommodation Fees
These are paid either:

What will you need to bring?
- not so much!
As a new student arriving at QMU student village, you will be able to take advantage of the Re:Use shop, which you will see signposted in the main building. This shop sells items that you will probably need, which have been donated by last year's residents. You will be able to pick up duvets, sheets, towels, pillows, pots & pans, plates, cutlery and all manner of other stuff for your use and entertainment. Everything that can be cleaned has been cleaned, and only stuff in reasonable condition has been stored. It will be sold at very low prices, as the project is about diverting goods from landfill not about turning a profit.
The shop will be open during the two weeks before the academic term starts to allow early arrivals to buy their kit too, so whichever weekend you are planning to arrive. You don't need to bring too much with you - save your money for more interesting stuff.
Using your own computer on campus
All rooms in the student village are provided with high speed internet access via QMU's own campus network. This means that you can work on your own computer in the privacy of your own room. The booklet Using your own computer on campus has more information on IT access from the Halls of Residence, as well as instructions on how to set your computer up.
