Podiatry

There are many reasons for choosing to study podiatry at QMU.

We have friendly, approachable staff, all registered podiatrists with the Health & Care Professions Council, with as much as 30 years clinical and teaching experience and teacher training qualifications. Some staff currently work with their own private patients and private practitioners are part of the clinical and class teaching team. All our staff teach their own students in NHS podiatry clinic.

At undergraduate level, we offer an Master of Podiatry (MPod)/ BSc (Hons) Podiatry, and at postgraduate level, an MSc Podiatry (Pre-Registration) - a two-year fast track course for those already holding an undergraduate degree and wishing to retrain as a podiatrist. Students will begin clinical practice and work with NHS patients in the first year of either course.

We have on site clinical and surgical facilities on campus at QMU and also in the Leith area of Edinburgh.

At postgraduate level, we also offer opportunities for enhancing your current podiatry career with our online MSc Advancing Practice in Podiatry and online MSc Theory of Podiatric Surgery

We have a broad area of research in current podiatry issues and in multidisciplinary healthcare as well as collaborations with other universities in joint teaching and research. Podiatry at QMU offers a variety of clinical placements throughout the Scottish NHS. There are also a number of NHS collaborations throughout Scotland in support of graduate employment.
