| Professor Andy Frew is Director of Research, Knowledge Transfer and Commercialisation within the School of Business, Enterprise and Management, Queen Margaret University. He has been active in the fields of hospitality and tourism for over 25 years specialising in the research, application and the management implications of information and communication technologies, currently holding the Professorial Chair in IT and Tourism at the university. He has published extensively, presented in numerous international forums and is a regular international keynote speaker on trends in ICT research in hospitality, travel and tourism. Andy currently holds the presidency of the International Federation of IT & Travel and Tourism (IFITT) and is outgoing president of the Hospitality Information Technology Association (HITA), a Fellow of the Tourism Society, and Advisory Board member of the Hospitality and Finance Technology Professionals (HFTP) and Advisory Board for EURHOTEC-HOSTEC. He has had widespread involvement in numerous think tanks and development forums including most recently, industry benchmarking in collaboration with the UNWTO and the in-house new technology initiative with Microsoft Corporation. In addition to mainstream academic activities of learning, teaching, research and Ph.D. supervision, Professor Frew has had a longstanding industry involvement through advisory, knowledge transfer and consultancy with over 100 completed projects. Current research interests include eBusiness models, electronic distribution and computer-mediated sustainability and destination management research.
