Research Centres

QMU supports a flourishing research culture with a number of research centres, which are promoted as strategic drivers for the growth of research activity. Currently there are three leading research centres within the institution and one research institute, which are:

There is an expectation that research centres will promote multi-disciplinary research, concentrate local research facilities and equipment, and generate significant income from external sources.

Centres such as CIHR and SSRC have strengthened the international profile of the institution. CIHR is a new centre set up to increase research capacity in nursing, midwifery and the allied health professions under the leadership of QMU. Acting as a lead partner in this collaboration is a major indicator of esteem and recognition of the institution's expertise in Allied Health and Nursing Research.
