Registry : Records Administration : Student ID Smartcards

Student ID Smartcards are keys to the new campus so it is essential that every student has one. While acting as photographic ID, QMU Student ID Smartcards also hold Smart technology which allows students to access areas of the university exclusive to their course, along with printing and photocopying at the swipe of a card.
With QMU's move towards a cashless campus, Smartcards can also be loaded with funds to use around the University. Parking permits will also be held in the card and allow easy access and departure from QMU's green campus.
All matriculated students are entitled to receive a Smartcard. New students can collect their card at the Smartcard Collection component during their Induction Programme.
If you don't have a scheduled Smartcard Collection component, then you can drop by the Registry Information Point on Level 1 and collect a card.
Registry staff will take your photo, so there is no need to bring a photo with you, although you will be asked to show photographic ID to prove your identity.
Students who are studying by Distance Learning should expect to receive their Smartcards by post at the home address they provided during the matriculation process. This could take a few weeks during busy times of the year. They will also need to send a passport style photo to Registry.
Registry can also deal with all your queries regarding replacement Smartcards. If you have had your card stolen, then get in touch with us, and if you can provide us with the Police Incident Number you were given when you reported it stolen, we can replace your Smartcard at no charge.
If you have lost your card and need a replacement then there will be a charge as detailed in the Fees & Charges information .
