Principles of Gynaecological Brachytherapy

Admission Regulations

 

Therapeutic Radiographers with HPC Registration and a minimum of two years clinical experience.

 

Employed in a clinical environment offering gynaecological brachytherapy experience at a level appropriate for postgraduate studies.

  Show evidence of continuing professional development.
  Each candidate will be considered individually with regard to her/his ability to meet the demands of the course. Ultimately it will be the responsibility of the Clinical Departments to determine suitability.

The programme is delivered over a six-month period on a part-time basis.The overall aim of the module is to enable the student to develop a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the physical principles and processes underlying the use of brachytherapy for gynaecological malignancies.

The module will be self-supported through independent academic study. During this study the student will have access to the entire range of Queen Margaret University electronic library facilities as well as guidance to access those provided by the respective UK Health Departments. Students will be encouraged to consider the implications of the skills they are learning in relation to current research, medico legal, ethical and governance issues.
