Head of Division: Dr. Olivia Sagan

The Division of Psychology and Sociology was formed in 2011 as part of the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management. Together with Media, Communication and Performing Arts and Business, Enterprise and Management, this new School offers students a flexible and dynamic environment in which to equip themselves with skills and knowledge essential for forging a career in their chosen area. The School provides a combination of high quality teaching and a faculty dedicated to continued development and research to an excellent standard offers students an ideal grounding in which to develop their own skills in preparation for a successful future.

We offer three innovative and up-to-date undergraduate courses: the BSc/BSc (Hons) Psychology, BSc/BSc (Hons) Psychology and Sociology and BSc/BSc (Hons) Public Sociology.

Our BSc Single Hons Psychology degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society and confers graduate basis for registration as a chartered psychologist (GBC).

We also offer an exciting and varied postgraduate programme including a multidisciplinary Masters in Research (MRes) and PhD studentship opportunites.

2015 National Student Survey results

We are delighted to report that the National Student Survey (NSS) for 2015 have shown both our department and individual courses to be very well received by our students with overall satisfaction at 92%

Satisfcation with teaching was rathed as 95%, while 100% of our students found their course to be intellectually stimulatiing.
