The Students' Union is run independently by students for students.
As a student at Queen Margaret University, whether you are part-time, full-time, distance learning, undergraduate or post graduate, you are automatically a member of the Students’ Union.
The Students’ Union (or SU) is there to support QMU students in every aspect of their student lives. From volunteering to playing sports and from advice on a wide range of problems, to ensuring the student voice is represented, they’re here for the needs of our students.
The SU is much more than just a bar, though Maggie’s, the on campus hub does have a bar, café and catering facilities, they’re here to help you get the most out of your time at QMU. Whether you need help with an academic appeal, a housing problem or just need someone to talk to. University can be a stressful time but the SU can help with their support and impartial advice.
The Students' Union is the main base for QMU's elected student representative, two of whom (the President and Vice President) are full-time officers taking time out of their studies to ensure students are represented at all levels throughout QMU.
The Students’ Union also runs a wide range of sports clubs and societies with everything from Anime to Volleyball; a great opportunity to get to know others and meet new friends with the same or similar interests!
