Welcome

Counselling is part of Student Services and is based in the Student and Staff Information point on Level 1.

Counselling is a free service available to all matriculated students. We offer short-term counselling, normally up to six sessions, to help you with any personal problems which might be affecting your academic work or your general health and wellbeing.

To make an appointment:

Email counselling@qmu.ac.uk. You will be sent a Pre-Counselling Questionnaire which you should complete, save, and return. You will then be emailed an appointment time.

You can also collect a Pre-Counselling Questionnaire from Student Services Reception and return it there in the envelope provided. You will be contacted by email with an appointment time.

Appointments are available 9.15 am - 3.15 pm throughout the year.

Drop-in sessions – for 2011 - 12

If you are not sure about counselling, or you would just like a brief consultation about something, you can drop in between 2 pm and 4 pm on Wednesdays.

Cancellation policy

If you need to cancel an appointment please give at least 24 hours notice so that the time may be offered to another student. If you cancel you may have to wait a while for another appointment.

If you habitually don’t keep appointments you may not be able to go on using the service.
