Mairghread Ellis

Mairghread’s Professional Doctorate thesis explored the nature of the patient-podiatrist relationship, with special focus on a consideration of professionalism.

Her interest in professionalism has informed honours level student projects around the transition from student to registered practitioner. Mairghread supervises student research at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and has a special interest in supervising professional doctorate students. Most recently, she has been actively involved in the development and delivery of the 2012 report ‘Professionalism in Nursing, Midwifery and the Allied Health Professions in Scotland – a report to the Co-ordinating Council for the NMAHP contribution to the Healthcare Quality Strategy for NHS Scotland’. Currently she acts as curriculum adviser to an Independent Education Provider.
