I entered Higher Education after 8 years of Physiotherapy clinical practice. This was both in the acute aspect of the NHS latterly as Senior Physiotherapist within General Medicine at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, as well as gaining wide experience within sports physiotherapy both in team and individual sports at all levels.

Through 20 years in Higher education working exclusively at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, my work has been focused primarily in practice-based learning – enhancing and developing both the student learning and also the clinical educators’ facilitation of this learning in the busy and ever changing health care arena.

Research activities have been focused around evaluation of e-learning as it supports both student and clinical educator in the learning experience.
