  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy,

Upon qualifying as a Physiotherapist I worked for a number of years within the NHS, latterly at Senior level. I specialised in the treatment of hand trauma and general accident and emergency orthopaedic trauma as well as elective orthopaedic rehabilitation. I then took up a research post within the Bioengineering Unit at Strathclyde University where I undertook research on elbow arthroplasty and phalangeal joint fracture and was awarded my Ph.D. Upon completion I joined the staff of Queen Margaret University and am currently a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of the B.Sc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme. I teach and co-ordinate a number of undergraduate, pre-registration and post-graduate modules within the field of neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation. I am involved in international collaborative work in teaching and learning.

My past and current Ph.D student supervision investigates various aspects of joint arthroplasty, back pain, hypermobility syndrome in children, myofascial trigger points.
