Title: Do individuals completing a six-week walking programme following lumbar decompression surgery undertake more activity and participation than those receiving usual care?
Topic: Lumbar decompression is a common treatment for sciatica in the UK. Despite a good surgical outcome, patients seem not to recover as well as could be expected, often not re-integrating fully into their lives. This project explores whether a walking programme, started straight after surgery, helps them break down any barriers to movement and get back to normal activities such as work and leisure.
