Ian McMillan has been involved in the education of students within Occupational Therapy since 1987 (Aberdeen).  Ian was an occupational therapist at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, working in a variety of areas such as Neurology and Work rehabilitation.  Ian began working in Education as a lecturer at the Grampian School of Occupational Therapy in 1987 and completed his teaching qualification at Jordanhill College in Glasgow in 1989. 

Ian moved to Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 1990 and has held a variety of roles including lecturer, programme leader for the OT conversion course, programme leader for the Pg Dip/MSc in OT, senior lecturer, acting Head of Subject and currently as Acting Head of Division.  Ian has an interest in the enhancement of the student experience through learning and teaching and acquired his Masters degree in Education in 1993.  His educational focus centres on Enquiry and Problem Based learning, he is currently researching problem based learning in his Doctoral studies at Queen Margaret. Ian’s current teaching commitments include the management of chronic pain at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and student dissertation supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
