History

In 1875, The Edinburgh School of Cookery was the forerunner to what is now Queen Margaret University . The institution emerged in a period that was notable for real economic progress and was created with two aims in mind: to create educational and career opportunities for women and to do something to address the problems of inadequate diet and under nourishment of the urban poor.
