QMU Principal presents professorial lecture
A university principal is to present a public lecture on the role of universities as part of the Queen Margaret University’s professorial lecture series.
Professor Petra Wend, Principal of Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, will discuss the historic development of the university since its inception and concentrate on the modern role of universities in Britain, exploring their purpose and the way they are managed.
Professor Wend will draw on her research background in institutional strategies that underpin successful leadership, enhance the student experience and influence university performance indicators.
With university funding high on the political agenda right now, this timely lecture is attracting an audience of political and educational commentators. Interested members of the public are also very welcome to attend this free lecture but booking is essential as many places have already been snapped up.
The lecture will take place on Monday 24 th October at 5.30pm for a 6pm start at the Royal College of Physicians, 9 Queen Street, Edinburgh.
