QMU helps keep kids occupied during summer

QUEEN Margaret University is holding a children’s summer activity programme.

‘Childsplay’ offers county kids, between the ages of five to 12, a range of arts, crafts and sporting activities from July 19 to August 13, from 9am-4pm on week days only.

Stuart Burnside, leisure services attendant at QMU, said: “The team has had many years of experience of running summer programmes for children. These proved very popular at our Corstorphine campus and we are delighted to able to offer this service to the East Lothian community.”

The programme is flexible and children can be booked for anywhere between a half day to a full week. Kids will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of activities including badminton, basketball, netball, football, rounders, arts and crafts, quizzes and many more.

Stuart added: “This is a great opportunity to keep kids entertained, make new friends, try new sports and activities, learn the rules of each sport they participate in, and most importantly, have fun.”

Prices range from £11 for a half day, to £90 for a full week, and booking is essential.
