Students provide a taste of Oman
Two Omani student associations in Scotland will be staging an exhibition in Edinburgh which showcases the life and culture of Oman.
The event, which will involve the Omani Student Association in Edinburgh in conjunction with Omani Glasgow Association, will hold the ‘Omani Exhibition Day’ in Surgeons’ Hall, Edinburgh on the 25 February.
The exhibition, which will feature a host of interesting items such as silverworks, Omani outfits, fine arts and photography, is designed to showcase Omani culture to university students, academics and the general public. There will also be models of historical edifices , manuscripts, archival documents , Arabic calligraphy and renditions of traditional Omani.
Before the start of exhibition program, visitors will be treated to Omani specialities including Omani coffee, dates and halwa , an Omani traditional sweet.
The event is expected to have participation from Omani students across Scotland including Glasgow, Perth and Edinburgh.
The exhibition, which is free, will run from 10.30am – 5pm at Surgeons Hall, Nicolson Street, EH8 9DW.
