QMU’s accommodation village is situated a
stone’s throw away from the main academic and Sports buildings and is made up of 9
residential blocks, offering high quality accommodation for an all-inclusive fee, meaning no
extra bills for you to worry about.
Residential blocks consist of 3-6 bedroom flats with each bedroom
having en-suite washing facilities and every flat a communal kitchen area, giving you both
freedom to mix with friends, and privacy to get on with your studies.
Living the QMU lifestyle on campus is recommended for first year students and is a great way of making new friends and checking out your new surroundings. There are 800 bedrooms in total which are offered on a first come first serve basis.
The Learning Resource Centre, or LRC, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. Here you will find access to a wide range of physical resources to support your learning. There is a range of study spaces to suit your every learning need, from quiet rooms with access to IT to group study rooms if you need to work with colleagues. Our friendly and professional staff are there to guide and advise - both in person and online.
For more information visit the LRC website
Directly opposite the main building and so close to halls you won’t break sweat getting there is QMU Sports Centre. Highly qualified Sports staff provide a safe, friendly and informative environment so you can enjoy your chosen sport to the full, be it a stress busting spin class, an energetic game of badminton, or a relaxing Pilates session, you can be sure to escape the rigours of education with us.
QMUSU is situated opposite the main building and is in the same area as the Sports
Centre. Maggies Bar provides many a sore head with its selection of beverages as well as
having an excellent choice of food if cooking isn’t on your menu! Entertainment is
provided throughout the year with DJ’s, discos, comedy nights, movie nights and quiz
nights all making appearances at some point and there are also pool tables, arcade games and
much more available on a daily basis.
Freshers week is definitely one week of University life that is not to be missed. Start
your year in style with a week that is packed full of parties, sports and events that give
you the perfect opportunity to socialise amongst a brand new group of people, potentially
making new friends for life.
Look out for themed events at certain times of the year. Christmas parties, end of term “Big Bangs” and the legendary St. Patricks Day Party are just some of the day/nights that may give you a few horror flashbacks the following day!
