External Borrowers

Anyone wishing to apply for external membership at Queen Margaret can do so.

HOW TO APPLY

Forms are available online for you to print or at the Library. Once completed, it should be taken to the Library Service Desk.

FEES

There is an annual fee of £55 or £45 for QMA members. There is no charge for school pupils but there is a refundable deposit of £20.

LIBRARY CARD

Once your application has been accepted, you will be notified by telephone that your Library Card is ready for collection. When collecting your Library Card, you must bring with you proof of identity and your address such as your passport and a utility bill. Your Library Card will be valid for one year from the date of acceptance. You should bring your Library Card with you each time you visit the Library as books cannot be borrowed without it.

LOANS

You may borrow:

6 x 21 day loans
2 x 7 day loans
2 x Audio Visual items

School pupils can only borrow two 21 day items

Unfortunately, some of our resources are restricted to current matriculated students and staff. Therefore, external membership does not allow:

access to online resources e.g. ebooks, ejournals and databases
access to items in the Short Loan collection
access to DVDs and Videos
access to Interlibrary Loans
the ability to reserve or recall items

HELP WITH FINDING MATERIALS

General help finding materials is available at the Library Service Desk. However, if you require extra assistance, please phone in advance for advice and, if necessary, book an appointment.

PHOTOCOPYING

Photocopying facilities are available ( more information ). Photocopying of some library materials is permitted under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, if the copied material is for private study or research. Please read the notices beside the photocopy machines.

LIBRARY REGULATIONS

All library users must abide by the Library Regulations. Copies are available in the Library or online
