Library Services - Academic Liaison Team

Information

The Academic Liaison Team works in partnership with staff and students in Schools and Faculties to ensure that the library stock meets the needs of the QM community. The team consists of three Liaison Librarians, four Assistant Librarians and a Cataloguers. The team is headed by the Academic Liaison Services Manager.

The Liaison Librarians each have designated subject areas for which they are responsible and they liaise with academic staff about the library resource needs of new and existing courses and research in the Faculties. Liaison Librarians attend course, school and faculty committees.

The Library Web pages are used to organise and manage a range of relevant electronic materials for use by QM staff and students as well as provide information about the Library and its services.

The Library at QM is currently developing training materials in order to enable students to navigate the growing range of information available in print and electronic format.

The Liaison Librarians are developing a series of generic information handling skills resources, which can be used interchangeably by the librarians, as well as independently by staff and students.
A series of tutorials have already been developed as narrated presentations. These can be accessed from the Study Skills page on the Library Web site. Contact your Liaison Librarian if you would like to tailor these for your specific courses and students.
