Services for Disabled Students

The Learning Resource Centre has a seperate room with PCs with access to the QM student desktop, as well as to some adaptive technologies to assist users with visual impairments or dyslexia.
The following software programs are available:
JAWS - screen reading software
KURZWEIL - scanning and reading software
ZOOMTEXT - screen enlarging software
INSPIRATION - mind mapping software
MINDMANAGER - mind mapping software
CCTV systems are also available, thes enlarge printed material on to a TV screen for reading in the Library.
Students should note that use of the resources may be dependent on referral from either their Academic Disabled Student Co-coordinator or from the Disability Adviser.
