Write and Cite: The QMU Guide to the Harvard Systems of Referencing

The Harvard system of referencing is a method for citing references in your assignments and giving the sources of those references.

The Queen Margaret University guide to the Harvard system has been developed to provide staff and students with a common referencing style to work with at QMU. It is based on the British Standard's Recommendations for references to published materials, BS 1629 and Citing and referencing published material, B5606.

Please note: Consult your student handbook, or your lecturer, to check which system for citing references your subject area uses.
