Employers at QMU Recruitment, Volunteering and Information fairs

We have organised recruitment and information events for part time work and work experience since 2000.

Autumn Recruitment Fairs

Autumn Recruitment fairs are organised at the beginning of the academic term in September or October every year.
Students find that this is an excellent opportunity to find part time, seasonal or voluntary opportunities. This popular event is mainly attended by international, postgraduate and first year students. Some employers also use this event to raise the profile or their organisation to attract potential graduates.

QMU Overseas Opportunities Mini Fair
(Tuesday 4 th October 2016 (from 11.30 to 14:00)

Venue: Queen Margaret University, EH21 6UU

Queen Margaret University Careers & Employability team is pleased to invite you to this event where you can meet and recruit our students as well as raise the profile of your organisation.

This event has been organised in response to demand from our students. QMU students demonstrate a high level of interest in working and volunteering overseas, and they are keen to meet and engage with organisations offering this sort of opportunity, to find out what is on offer to them.

We would like to offer you the chance to attend this event as we believe the opportunities you offer would be of particular interest to our students. Students attending the fair would be able to ask questions, speak to you in person, learn about what your organisation offers, and potentially sign up for schemes, programmes, placements and other opportunities.

Employers’ feedback may encapsulate what you can expect from this event:

- “Reasonable affordable means of recruiting staff, especially for the time leading up to Christmas”
- “Very relevant degrees, genuine interest on what we do”
- “Students were keen and enthusiastic”
- “Very interested. Well-informed and focused”
- “Great. Most of them knew exactly what kind of opportunity they were looking for.
- “Good quality of candidates who we will be able to assist with part time temporary work”

QMU's successful 2015 fair was attended by 400 students. The use of social media was the most popular way for students to find out information about the event. We will therefore advertise your organisation in our Facebook and Twitter Pages as well as our website before and during this event together with traditional posters thousands of flyers and targeted emails to raise the profile of your organisation.
