International Students

How can QMU Jobshop and Employment Support help international students?

The Jobshop provides information on Scottish and UK recruitment processes as well as specific issues facing international students who choose to work in the UK. Students can also refer to QMU Recruitment & International Liaison Office (RILO) for information.

Advice on working as a student

The Jobshop provides information and gives links to useful websites which can help with the following:

  • National Insurance
  • Income tax
  • Employment rights
  • Working conditions

Job vacancies

Register with the Jobshop and check out our facebook page for access to hundreds of vacancies throughout the year. We do not pass your details to third parties and your personal data is treated according to the Data Protection Act and QMU policies and procedures.

Employers

The Jobshop has links with employers offering part time and seasonal employment. Some of these organisations also offer internships, placements and voluntary opportunities.

Student feedback

See what some of your fellow students have to say about the benefits of using the Jobshop.

Job fairs

These are organised at the beginning of the academic year (September) and in the spring time. Fairs are an excellent opportunity to meet employers directly, learn about the job market and see what opportunites are out there for you. Please come prepared with a CV (we can help you with this!) and an enthusiastic and professional attitude.
