Availability

Wireless network coverage is available through the academic building and in the cafe areas of the Students' Union, (*student residences: wireless available from September 2011).

Access will be provided to the following types of network traffic:

• web internet traffic

• synchronisation traffic for email and files (email only at present)

• ICA traffic for running a thin-client session giving a full QM desktop

Support

Information Services recognises that many staff and students will want to connect their personal devices to the wireless network. Whilst all types of PDA and laptop are permitted, only Windows XP/Vista based laptops and Windows mobile based PDA devices can be supported.

Students can get help connecting to the wireless network by contacting the LRC Service Desk in person or via email on: LRCHelp@qmu.ac.uk. Staff should contact the IS Helpdesk on: ISHelpdesk@qmu.ac.uk.
