Information Services - IT Information for New Students

Welcome to QMU.

IT and technology will play a large part in your studies. To access QMU IT and technology, you will need a username and password. You must be a matriculated student before you get these. You can matriculate online using the student portal: QM:u


Getting started - Once you have matriculated, there are several resources to help you get started. You will find the Connect and Learn booklet very helpful. It has lots of useful information about your QMU username and password, as well as details of how to access key QMU systems


Using your own computer - If you are living in QMU's Halls of Residence or want to access the wireless service, then you will find the booklet Using your own computer on campus very useful.


Distance and part-time learners - There is a booklet for our Distance and part-time learners which will be helpful if you are not studying on campus.


Timetables - Your QMU timetable is available online now. Click here for more information on how to access your timetable.


Learning more - If you want to learn more about IT and technology, there are several options:

  • LRC Induction module in WebCT
  • LRC Induction area on QMU intranet available from September 2009
  • Self-paced learning, available on WebCT and intranet
  • Workshops and drop-in sessions - see LRC website for more information
