What we do and who we are
The Recruitment and Liaison Office (RILO) team are responsible for managing UK and international student recruitment activities on behalf of the University, as well as providing support and advice to UK and international applicants .
In the UK, the RILO team attends higher education fairs throughout the country, and many local school and college careers events. RILO are active participants in local widening participation projects such as the Lothians Equal Access Programme for Schools (LEAPS) and work with local colleges to develop access and articulation routes.
Internationally, the RILO team make regular visits to key markets for the purposes of direct student recruitment, setting up and maintaining a network of local agents who provide advice on admission to QMU degree programmes. The RILO team also play an important role in supporting exchanges and study abroad agreements .
The team also provide pre-arrival support for new international students and organise the international students induction day. The RILO team also provide ongoing support and advice, particularly on student visa and immigration issues to international students.

Where we’re going
The Recruitment & International Liaison Office attend a number of events overseas and in the UK throughout the year, as well as hosting on-campus events and individual visits.
Markets and events are selected based on market intelligence taking into account applicant and entrant data to the University as well as other data provided via the British Council, HESA and UCAS.
