Supporting our international students
The Recruitment and International Liaison (RILO) Office is the first point of contact at QMU for students coming to the UK from overseas. We recognise and warmly welcome a wide range of international qualifications. The RILO team are able to provide information about the university and our courses and advise you on what qualifications are required to successfully apply for any of our programmes. We also recognise that there are a few things that international students must consider before embarking on overseas study, including fees & funding and applying to name but a few. Check out the link down the left hand side of this page - all of which will be relevant to you.
Please note, for courses that do not already have a set deadline (check individual course page information), overseas applicants who require a visa to study in the UK should apply no later than the 30th June 2016.

Growing number of international students
Around 25% of Queen Margaret University students are international coming from over 70 countries throughout the world.
We offer English language support and can provide information on life in the UK. Please see the menu down the left hand side of this page which links to various pages which are of interest to international students.
Living in Edinburgh and the surrounding area
Edinburgh has long been recognised as a seat of learning and offers international students the opportunity to experience the ancient and modern aspects in a distinguished, cosmopolitan European city. On arrival, Scotland will of course be a foreign country and RILO operates an open door policy to ensure that you have access to all the information and advice you need to make your time at QMU and in Scotland both enjoyable and successful. RILO provides information that you need before arriving at QMU/ Scotland (including travel advice) and important things that you'll need to know once you get here, for example living costs, setting up a bank account, getting a mobile phone etc.
There are 800 en-suite rooms single study-bedrooms on campus, all with wired and wifi internet access and individual toilet/shower room. Visit our accommodation section, which has details of prices and photos of our ultra modern flats. Please note that wifi is available throughout the campus.
