Your first step is to register as a student. We call this process matriculation.

All students must matriculate for their course at the start of each academic year and the process will take about 15 minutes.

When students matriculate, they confirm various pieces of information with QMU and agree to the rules and regulations, and terms and conditions of QMU.

You will be able to matriculate online from the 2nd of September 2013.

All you will need is your QMU student number which you can find on your joining letter or on the offer letter you received from Admissions during the application process.

If you are funded by your employer, a charity or a funding body such as SAAS or SLC, we will also need these details, so please make sure you have them to hand.

Please ensure you that you complete this process before attending your Induction Programme and if you have any queries or require any special arrangements for matriculation, please get in touch via the contact details below.

Registry staff will also be available to assist with matriculation if you have been unablet to complete the process before attenidng your Induction Programme.



Online Module Registration 2012/3

If you have the option to choose modules you will be able to select these online via the QM:u Student Portal as soon as you have matriculated for 2012/13. The online module registration facility will display a short description of each module and you can view the timetable to help you decide which module is right for you.

You must read the following guide and examples before trying to complete the module choice process or you can wait until induction week where additional support will be available.

You will have an Induction Programme from the academic and support staff who teach and organise your subject.

Your Induction Programme will involve various activities and sessions designed to introduce you to your course, QMU facilities, your tutors and your fellow students.

These events will take place at different times depending on your subject and degree so please make sure to read your Induction Programme information carefully.

While we always try not to make sudden schedule changes, we do advise you to check the website for any changes prior to arriving at QMU.

Then you just need to come to QMU!

The QMU campus is on the eastern fringe of Edinburgh, right beside the seaside town of Musselburgh, and is easily accessed from the city and beyond. The area is bordered by the main east coast rail line to London and the A1. It also neighbours the city by-pass.

The campus is very easy to reach by train, as it is situated right beside Musselburgh Station. The rail service from Edinburgh Waverley to Musselburgh takes around six minutes. The campus is also a short walk from Newcraighall Station which is eleven minutes from Edinburgh Waverley on the cross-rail line. There are frequent bus services to the area from central Edinburgh, currently taking around 30 minutes. There is a bus stop next to the Student Union.
