Health Economics

 

The course aim is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the key issues in health economics and economic evaluation of health care in low and middle income countries.

The content includes an introduction to health economics; demand for health care; supply of health care; market failure and the role of government; the operation of labour markets in health care; incentives and hospital and health provider behaviour; the different types of economic evaluation; practical steps in conducting an economic evaluation.
